Four dengue patients die; 426 hospitalized in 24 hrs

Four dengue patients died and 426 were hospitalized in the last 24 hours until Wednesday morning.

With the latest death, a total of 254 people died of dengue to date, a Directorate General of Health Services press release said.

Currently, 1,803 people diagnosed with the mosquito-borne disease are taking treatment at different government and private hospitals in and outside the capital of Dhaka. 

Of them, 1,048 are being treated at the facilities in the capital while 755 are in other divisions.   

As many as 57,358 dengue patients were admitted to hospitals across the country since January 1 this year.

Some 55,301 out of the hospitalized patients, however, recovered during the period.
