People suffer as bus strike underway in Sunamganj
An indefinite bus strike is underway in Sunamganj, causing immense suffering to the commuters.
The strike enforced by the district bus owners and workers began on Thursday evening.
Inter-district and long-haul buses, trucks, and microbuses remain shut since yesterday evening.
It was learned that the strike was called protesting the seizure of three buses of 'Shyamoli,' 'Mamun,' and 'Shakil' Paribahan and suing the owners of the vehicles.
The district road transport workers union leader told Jago News they will continue the strike until the seized vehicles are returned.
In this regard, Superintendent of Sunamganj Police (SP) Ehsan Shah told Jago News police seized the buses on Thursday for parking on road illegally as parking vehicles on road creates suffering for people and causes traffic jams.
