Narsingdi trawler capsize kills 9

At least nine people drowned after a trawler capsized in the Arial Khan River of Narsingdi’s Raipura upazila on Saturday noon.

Details of the victims are yet to be known immediately. 

Confirming the matter, Azharul Islam, officer-in-charge of Raipura Police Station said, the trawler capsized with more than hundred passengers on board around 12:15pm.

The boat was heading towards a local shrine. Fire brigade team has been informed to conduct rescue operation on the spot, he added.
