4 dengue patients die, 606 hospitalized in 24 hours

Four dengue patients died while 606 patients were admitted to different hospitals across the country during the past 24 hours (till 8am on Monday).

"As many as 289 dengue patients were hospitalized in Dhaka city and 317 patients were admitted to hospitals outside Dhaka during the past 24 hours," said a dengue-related report signed by Dr Md Jahidul Islam, In-charge of the Emergency Operation Centre and Control Room of the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).

"A total of 234 people died from dengue disease between January 1 and November 21. The first death from dengue was reported on June 21, this year," the daily statement of the DGHS said.

With the new cases, the total number of dengue patients this year rose to 53,413 while some 50,828 patients were released from the hospitals.
