Bus strike called in Sylhet on the day of BNP's rally
The bus owners have called a strike in Sylhet district on the day of BNP's divisional mass rally on Saturday (November 19).
Sylhet district bus owners association president Abul Kalam confirmed the matter on Wednesday.
He said the strike was not called around BNP's rally but to press home their demands that include attaching grills in CNG-run auto-rickshaws, banning unregistered auto-rickshaw and not registering auto-rickshaws newly.
Sylhet district road transport workers union president Moinul Islam said they have no knowledge about the strike.
BNP will hold a mass rally in Sylhet on Saturday as part of its rallies in divisional cities seeking the party chief Khaleda Zia's unconditional release, election-time non-party impartial government, and protesting fuel prices hike, deaths, of leaders and activists by police, attack and false cases against them.
