Fardin murder: Bushra sent to jail after remand

A court in Dhaka has sent Amatullah Bushra to jail after the completion of a five-day remand in a case over the murder of his friend BUET student Fardin Nur Parash.

Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Ataullah on Wednesday passed the order after a hearing.

Earlier, police produced her before the court and sought to confine her in prison until the investigation ends while her lawyer prayed for bail. 

Hearing both parties, the court turned down her bail petition and sent her to jail.

Earlier, police arrested Bushra, a private university student, from capital Dhaka's Rampura area on November 10 in the case.

On the same day, Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Mehedi Hasan granted police three days to question her following she had been presented before the court.

Fardin Nur Parash, 24, a third-year student of the Civil Engineering department of Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology, went missing on November 5.

On the same day, his father Kazi Nuruddin Rana, a resident of Noyamati area in Fatulla of Narayanganj, filed a general diary with Rampura Station in Dhaka about his missing.

On November 7, naval police recovered his body from Shitalakhya river in Narayanganj.

Later, Kazi Nuruddin lodged a case against Bushra and some unnamed people with the same police station accusing them of killing Fardin and covering up his body.
