Anti-drug drive: DGFI officer killed along Tumbru border

An officer of the Directorate General of Forces Intelligence (DGFI) was killed and a member of the Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) was injured as drug smugglers opened fire during a clash along Tumbru border in Bandarban on Monday.

The Inter Services Public Relation Directorate (ISPR) confirmed the matter in a press release at 1am on Tuesday. 

The clash occurred when the members of the DGFI and the RAB conducted a joint anti-drug drive in Tumbru bordering area, the press release said.

The release did not mention the names and positions of the victim officers but said that the deceased DGFI officer was an officer of the Bangladesh Air Force.
