Six dengue patients die; 918 hospitalized in 24 hrs

Six dengue patients died and 918 were hospitalized in the last 24 hours until Saturday morning.

With the latest death, a total of 199 people died of dengue to date, a Directorate General of Health Services press release said.

Currently, 3,275 people diagnosed with the mosquito-borne disease are taking treatment at different government and private hospitals in and outside the capital of Dhaka. 

Of them, 2,024 are being treated at the facilities in the capital while 1,251 are in other divisions.   

As many as 47,670 dengue patients were admitted to hospitals across the country since January 1 this year. 

Some 44,196 out of the hospitalized patients, however, recovered during the period.
