Fardin’s friend Bushra on 5-day remand
A Dhaka court has placed Bushra on a five-day remand in a case filed over the murder of her friend Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET) student Fardin Nur Parash.
Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Mehedi Hasan on Thursday passed the order after Rampura police produced her before the court and sought seven-day remand to interrogate her.
Earlier in the morning, police arrested Bushra from a house in the capital’s Rampura. Fardin’s father Kazi Nuruddin Rana filed the murder case with Rampura Police Station around 3:30am. Bushra and some unnamed people were sued in the case.
According to the source, Fardin remained missing since November 4. His father filed a general diary with Rampura Police Station in Dhaka on November 5. The body of Fardin was recovered from Shitalakhya river in Narayanganj on November 7 two days after his missing.
Police interrogated Fardin’s two friends - Bushra and Shirsha Sanshopta - after recovering his body. Bushra is a student of a private university.
On November 8, Sheikh Farhad, Resident Medical Officer of Narayanganj General Hospital, said Fardin might have been killed. Numerous injury marks have been found on his body.
