Bus-covered van collision kills 4 in Feni

Four people were killed and four others injured in a head-on collision between a bus and a covered van on Dhaka-Chattogram highway at Mohammad Ali Dulamiah area in Feni on Wednesday. 

Of the deceased, three were identified as Nazmul, 35, covered van driver of Durgapur area in Cumilla sadar upazila, Forkan, 50 of Nesarabad upazila in Pirojpur and Riaz Uddin of Lakshmipur.  

Purnachandra Mritsuddi, Deputy Director of Feni Fire Service Station, said a Dhaka-bound bus of Unique Service collided head-on with the covered van around 11am in the area. At that time, three people died on the spot and another died on the way to the hospital. Four people were also injured in the accident and sent to Chattogram Medical College Hospial.

Mostofa Kamal, Officer-in-charge of Mohipal Highway Police Station, said the vehicles involved in the accident were seized and brought to the police station. A case filing is under process.
