2 Bangladeshis killed by BSF in Lalmonirhat
Two Bangladeshi youths were shot dead by the Indian Border Security Force (BSF) at Mahishtuli border at Bhelabari union in Aditmari upazila of Lalmonirhat early Wednesday.
The deceased were identified as Aynal Haque, 28, son of Sadek Ali and Waskuruni, 30, son of Sanwar Miah, of Mohishtuli village in the upazila.
Bhelabari Union Parishad Chairman Mohammad Ali confirmed the matter to Jago News.
According to the local source, some youths were bringing cows to Bangladesh from India crossing the border illegally. At that time, a patrolling team of BSF opened fire on them and killed two of them.
Lt. Col. Touhidul Islam, Commander of Lalmonirhat Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB)-15, said BSF shot and injured two Bangladeshis when they were bringing cows from India. Later, the injured were taken to their respective houses by their cohorts and died.
A company commander-level meeting has been called in this regard, he added.
