4 killed, 15 injured as bus hits tree in Faridpur

Four people were killed and at least 15 others injured as a bus hit a tree at Madhabpur area in Bhanga upazila of Faridpur early Sunday. 

The deceased were identified as Merina Akter, 32, Junayed Sheikh, 3, Humayun Kabir, 48 and Abdur Rawf Hawlader, 50. 

Md Toimur Islam, Officer-in-charge of Bhanga Police Station, said a bus of Sakura Paribahan lost control and hit the roadside tree at 3:45am. At that time, two people died on the spot and two injured others were taken to Bhanga Upazila Health Complex and died there. 

Police recovered the bus and took it to the police station. Legal action is under process in this regard, the OC added.
