Nine dengue patients die; 882 hospitalized in 24 hrs

Nine dengue patients died and 882 were hospitalized in the last 24 hours until Thursday morning.

With the latest death, a total of 161 people died of dengue to date, a Directorate General of Health Services press release said.

Currently, 3,676 people diagnosed with the mosquito-borne disease are taking treatment at different government and private hospitals in and outside the capital of Dhaka. 

Of them, 2,276 are being treated at the facilities in the capital while 1,400 are in other divisions.   

As many as 40,983 dengue patients were admitted to hospitals across the country since January 1 this year. 

Some 37,146 out of the hospitalized patients, however, recovered during the period.
