RpCC polls to be held on Dec 27

The Rangpur City Corporation (RpCC) polls will be held on December 27. The voting will start at 8am and continue till 4pm. Electronic Voting Machines would be used in the election. The full election schedule will be announced on Monday. 

Election Commissioner Secretary Jahangir Alam disclosed this after the ninth election commission meeting at Election Commission Building in the capital on Thursday. 

He said, the elections to five municipalities and some union parishads will be held on December 29. The municipalities are Bagha of Rajshahi, Birol of Dinajpur, Bodha of Panchaghar, Alfadanga of Faridpur and Bonpara of Natore.

Earlier, the meeting was held at 11am. Chief Election Commissioner Kazi Habibul Awal presided over it. The election commissioners were present during this time. 

The election to the city corporation was held on 21 December, 2017. The first meeting was held on February 19, 2018. The tenure will end after five years of the first meeting.
