Vorer Pata editor Ertaza Hassan arrested

Dr Kazi Ertaza Hassan, editor and publisher of the Daily Vorer Pata, has been arrested in a case filed over occupying land through forgery. 

A team of Police Bureau of Investigation (PBI) arrested him from his office in the capital’s Gulshan-2 on Tuesday night. 

Abu Yousuf, Additional Police Superintendent (Legal and Media) of the PBI Headquarters, confirmed the matter to Jao News.

He said, Saiful Islam, brother of Ashiyan Group Chairman Nazrul Islam, filed the case with Khilkhet Police Station. The three other accused of the case are Abu Yousuf Abdullah, Riazul Alam and Selim Munshi.

According to the case, Ertaza and his accomplices committed fraud by purchasing land from Ashiyan Group for Northern University Bangladesh. They have been accused of fraudulently completing the registry without paying the full price of the land.
