Four Covid deaths, 115 cases recorded in 24 hrs

The Bangladesh government reported four COVID-19 deaths and 115 cases in the last 24 hours.

With this, the total number of fatalities increased to 29,423, and infections stood at 20,35,152. 

The Directorate General of Health Services said this in a press release on Sunday.

The new cases were found after testing 4,054 samples in the past day.

During the period, 361 patients recovered from the illness, taking the total recoveries to 19,80,509.

Bangladesh, however, first reported its coronavirus cases on March 8, 2020. 

The virus first emerged in the Chinese city of Wuhan in December 2019 and then it spread to other countries.

To date, the epidemic infected 635,376,184 people and killed 6,593,503 across the globe, according to Worldometer, a website that compiles the number of new coronavirus cases and deaths from it.

However, the total number of people who recovered from the virus reached 614,435,217 across the world.
