Six dengue patients die; 869 hospitalized in 24 hrs

Six dengue patients died and 869 were hospitalized in the last 24 hours until Saturday morning.

With the latest death, a total of 134 people died of dengue to date, a Directorate General of Health Services press release said.

Currently, 3,597 people diagnosed with the mosquito-borne disease are taking treatment at different government and private hospitals in and outside the capital of Dhaka. 

Of them, 2,279 are being treated at the facilities in the capital while 1,318 are in other divisions.   

As many as 36,131 dengue patients were admitted to hospitals across the country since January 1 this year. 

Some 32,400 out of the hospitalized patients, however, recovered during the period.
