Banning motorcycles on highways recommended

The Parliamentary Standing Committee on Road Transport and Bridges Ministry has recommended banning motorcycles and Nasimon-Karimon on the highways.

The recommendation was made in the 16th meeting of the parliamentary standing committee at Sangsad Bhaban on Thursday.

Besides, the committee recommended proper implementation of the Road Transport Act to take effective measures to prevent traffic jams and accidents on the roads and highways.

It also recommended introducing a system of specific clothing for drivers to stop illegal ride-sharing to reduce traffic congestion in Dhaka city.
