Five members of 'Jamaatul Hindal' remanded

A court in Dhaka has put five members of militant outfit Jamaatul Ansar Fil Hindal Sharkiah on a two-day remand in a case filed under the anti-terrorism act.

They are Md Abdullah, 22, from Natore, Md Tajul Islam, 33, from Chandina upazila of Cumilla, Md Ziauddin, 37, and Md Mahamudul Hasan, 18, from Narayanganj, and Md Habibullah, 19, from Madaripur.

Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Shahidul Islam passed the order after police had produced them before the court, seeking a 10-day remand. 

Earlier on Wednesday, police conducted a drive in Demra area of capital Dhaka and arrested them along with some Fatwah-related papers.

Later, police's Counter Terrorism and Transnational Crime (CTTC) unit inspector SM Mizanur Rahman lodged a case with Demra Police Station in this connection under the anti-terrorism act.

It was learned that Jamaatul Ansar Fil Hindal Sharkiah was founded in 2017.
