Seven dengue patients die; 864 hospitalized in 24 hrs

Seven dengue patients died and 864 were hospitalized in the last 24 hours until Wednesday morning.

With the latest death, a total of 106 people died of dengue to date, a Directorate General of Health Services press release said.

Currently, 3,304 people diagnosed with the mosquito-borne disease are taking treatment at different government and private hospitals in and outside the capital of Dhaka. 

Of them, 2,247 are being treated at the facilities in the capital while 1057 are in other divisions.   

As many as 27,802 dengue patients were admitted to hospitals across the country since January 1 this year. 

Some 24,392 out of the hospitalized patients, however, recovered during the period.
