Three BCL leaders killed in Pabna road crash

Three local leaders of Bangladesh Chhatra League were killed as a bus rammed a motorcycle in Ishwardi upazila of Pabna district on Saturday night.

The deceased were Salauddin, 24, and Arifin Islam Ariful, 26, president, and joint general secretary of Nazirpur union unit BCL in Gurudaspur upazila of Natore respectively, and Ishtiaq Ahmed, 25, a former leader of Dhaka College, Dhaka, and a resident of the upazila.

Gurudaspur upazila BCL president Atiar Rahman told Jago News the three were going to Kushtia from Pabna on a motorcycle at about 8 pm.

A bus hit the motorbike at Munnar intersection in Ishwardi around 10 pm, leaving one dead on the spot and two hurt, he said.

Of the injured, one died on the way to Rajshahi Medical College Hospital and another, later, passed away at RMCH, Atiar added.

Pakshi Highway Police Station officer in-charge Ashish Kumar Sanal told Jago News families of the victims filed a written complaint against 'Moushumi Paribahan' and legal action would be taken investigating the incident.
