Police have arrested five people in connection with the gang-rape of a teenage girl at Kamalapur Railway Station in capital Dhaka. 

They are Sumon, 21, Naim, 25, Nazmul, 25, Anwar, 20, and Roman alias Kalu, 22. Police were, however, trying to apprehend another involved in the incident.

Dhaka Railway Police Station (Kamalapur) officer in-charge Md Ferdous Ahmed Bishwas confirmed the matter.

He said the teenager came to Kamalapur Railway Station from Netrakona district on a train of 'Haor Express' on Friday night. 

Later, a few teenage and young men tricked her into a bogie of 'Turag Community Train' stood at the No. 1 platform and gang-raped there, Ferdous said.

Police arrested five people over the incident early Saturday and were trying to apprehend another named Imran for his alleged involvement in the act, the OC added.

The railway police, however, said the victim was taken to the forensic department of Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) for her medical test.
