Policeman among 4 killed in Gopalganj road crash

Four people, including a police member, were killed and at least 10 others injured in a road accident in Sadar upazila of Gopalganj district on Friday morning.

Out of the deceased, two were identified as Abdul Alim, a constable at Barishal district police, and Joynal Abedin, a resident of Sadar upazila in Bagerhat district.

Gopalganj Fire Service and Civil Defence deputy director Abul Kalam said a bus of 'Didar Paribahan' hit hard a roadside tree in Chandradighalia area around 7:30 am as its driver lost control over steering, leaving three dead on the spot and at least 11 hurt.

Among the injured, one, later, died on the way to hospital, he said, adding that the rest injured were admitted to Gopalganj 250-Bed General Hospital.

About this, Sadar Police Station officer in-charge Md Nasir Uddin said police and fire personnel recovered the bodies and sent these to the hospital morgue.
