Truck runs over elderly man in Gazipur

An elderly man was killed as a truck ran over him in Kaliakair upazila of Gazipur district on Wednesday morning.
Deceased Santosh Saha, 70, was a resident of Shahpara area of Mirzapur upazila in Tangail district.
Locals said a truck ran over an elderly man in Shrifaltali area on the Dhaka-Tangail Highway when he was passing by the road, leaving him dead on the spot.
Gorai Highway Police Station officer in-charge Molla Tutul said they recovered the body but could not seize the vehicle and detain its driver.
