Rahima Begum tells court she was abducted
Rahima Begum of Khulna, who was rescued from Faridpur on Saturday 29 days after her going missing, has given her statement in a court in the district.
In the statement, she said those who were named in her abduction case basically kidnapped her over a land dispute, said plaintiff's lawyer Afruzzaman Tutul.
Judge of Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Court-2, Khulna Md Al Amin recorded her statement at about 6 pm on Sunday, he said.
Later, she was handed over to her younger daughter and plaintiff Aduri Akter, the lawyer added.
Rahima Begum, a resident of North Bonikpara of Maheshwarpasha in Khulna city, went missing from their home on the night of August 27.
Later, family members filed a general diary with Daulatpur Police Station, Khulna, and subsequently lodged a case in this connection.
After the case filing, police and the Rapid Action Battalion apprehended six people in the lawsuit until September 12.
Her daughter Moriom Mannan appealed to the country people to inform about her mother's whereabouts which went viral in social media and touched people's hearts.
After 29 days of her going missing, police rescued her from the home of Kuddus Molla, a resident of Syedpur village under Sadar union in Boalmari upazila of Faridpur district, on Saturday night (September 24).
