Rahima doesn't want to go to anyone: Police
Rahima Begum of Khulna, who was rescued from Faridpur on Saturday night 29 days after her going missing, doesn't want to go to anyone, said police.
Superintendent of Police Investigation Bureau, Khulna Syed Moshfiqur Rahman said this in a press conference at Khulna Press Club on Sunday afternoon.
Since Rahima Begum was taken to the PBI office from police station, she kept her mouth shut, he said.
"She is frequently saying I don't want to go to anyone, don't want to talk to anyone," Moshfiqur quoted her as saying.
But PBI is trying to make her speak and after interrogation, she would be sent to court today, the official added.
The SP also said police launched an investigation to know those who were involved in the incident.
Moshfiqur alleged that her daughter Moriom Mannan confused police and spread confusion in social media networks on different occasions.
Mentioning the abduction case of Rahim Begum as the talk of the country, he said they will investigate the lawsuit with utmost importance.
Regarding the six people who were arrested in the case, he said they are trying to know if were they involved in the event.
Rahima Begum went missing from their home at North Bonikpara of Maheshwarpasha in Khulna city on the night of August 27.
Later, family members filed a general diary with Daulatpur Police Station, Khulna, and subsequently lodged a case in this connection.
After the case filing, police and the Rapid Action Battalion apprehended six people in the lawsuit until September 12.
On September 14, PBI was handed over the investigation charge of the case.
Her daughter Moriom Mannan appealed to the country people to inform about her mother's whereabouts which went viral in social media and touched people's hearts.
After 29 days of her going missing, police rescued her from the home of Kuddus Molla, a resident of Syedpur village under Sadar union in Boalmari upazila of Faridpur district, on Saturday night (September 24).
