440 hospitalized with dengue fever in 24 hrs

Some 440 people with dengue fever were admitted to different hospitals in and outside the capital of Dhaka in the last 24 hours until Saturday morning.

With this, a total of 1,628 patients diagnosed with the mosquito-borne disease are taking treatment at different government and private hospitals.

Of them, 1,272 are being treated at the facilities of Dhaka while 356 are in other divisions, a Directorate General of Health Services press release said today.  

As per the release, a total of 13,440 dengue patients were admitted to hospitals across the country since January 1 this year. 

To date, 50 people died of dengue during the period while 11,762 out of the hospitalized patients recovered.
