Two dengue patients die; 437 hospitalized in 24 hrs

Two dengue patients died and 125 were hospitalized in the last 24 hours until Friday morning.

With the latest death, a total of 50 people died of dengue to date, a Directorate General of Health Services press release said.

Currently, 1,514 people diagnosed with the mosquito-borne disease are taking treatment at different government and private hospitals in and outside the capital of Dhaka. 

Of them, 1,174 are being treated at the facilities in the capital while 340 are in other divisions.   

As many as 13,000 dengue patients were admitted to hospitals across the country since January 1 this year. 

Some 11,436 out of the hospitalized patients, however, recovered during the period.
