Two dengue patients die; 437 hospitalized in 24 hrs

Two dengue patients died and 437 were hospitalized in the last 24 hours until Thursday morning.

With the latest death, a total of 48 people died of dengue to date, a Directorate General of Health Services press release said.

Currently, 1,529 people diagnosed with the mosquito-borne disease are taking treatment at different government and private hospitals in and outside the capital of Dhaka. 

Of them, 1,183 are being treated at the facilities in the capital while 346 are in other divisions.   

As many as 12,875 dengue patients were admitted to hospitals across the country since January 1 this year. 

Some 11,298 out of the hospitalized patients, however, recovered during the period.
