Construction worker electrocuted in Banasree

A construction worker died from electrocution in Banasree area of capital Dhaka on Wednesday morning.

Deceased Shawkat Hossain, 34, lived in 241 no. house in Khilgaon Bhuiyanpara area. His father's name is Shahadat Hossain.

Coworker Babu said Shawkat came in contact with a wire on the fourth floor of an under-construction building at Block-D beside Banasree Ideal School around 8:30 and became unconscious.

He was first taken to Shaheed Suhrawardy Medical College Hospital and later, shifted to Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) where the on-duty doctors declared him dead at about 3 pm, Babu added.

DMCH Police Outpost in-charge inspector Md Bachchu Mia said the body was kept at the morgue and the police station concerned was informed about the matter.
