Derailment snaps M'singh-Ctg rail link

Mymensingh's rail communication with Chattogram and Netrakona districts was suspended as a train derailed in Mymensingh city on Sunday morning.

The wheel of a goods-laden boogie of Chattogram-bound 'Nasirabad Express' train veered off the rail track Shamvuganj area at about 9:15 am, halting the train link of Mymensingh with Chattogram, Netrakona, and Jaria, Netrakona. 

Mymensingh Railway Police Station sub-inspector Mirza Mohammad Mukta confirmed the incident to Jago News.

As a result of the disruption, Dhaka-bound 'Haor Express' train was stuck at Shyamganj and Jaria-bound 'Balaka Express' stranded at Mymensingh Railway Station, he said. 

However, the rescue operation has started, SI Mukta added.
