Two dengue patients die; 353 hospitalized in 24 hrs

Two dengue patients died and 353 were hospitalized in the last 24 hours until Tuesday morning.

With the latest death, a total of 39 people died of dengue to date, a Directorate General of Health Services press release said.

Currently, 1,213 people diagnosed with the mosquito-borne disease are taking treatment at different government and private hospitals in and outside the capital of Dhaka. 

Of them, 895 are being treated at the facilities in the capital while 318 are in other divisions.   

As many as 9,448 dengue patients were admitted to hospitals across the country since January 1 this year. 

Some 8,196 out of the hospitalized patients, however, recovered during the period.
