3 killed as bus collides head-on with microbus in Rangpur

Three people, including a newborn baby, were killed and four others injured after a passenger bus collided head-on with a microbus at Taraganj upazila in Rangpur early Sunday. 

The accident took place on Rangpur-Dinajpur regional road near Kharubhaj Bridge around 5:30am. 

The deceased are Barat, 30, son of Nasir Uddin of Nilphamari, Rafiqul Islam, 40, son of Jahanur Islam and a seven-day-old newborn baby. 

Source said, a Nilphamari-bound bus of Bhai Bhai Paribahan collided head-on with the microbus in the area. Seven members of a family, who were in the microbus, were injured. Later, they were sent to Rangpur Medical College Hospital (RpMCH) where three people died. 

Sheikh Mohammad Mahbub Morshed, Officer-in-charge of Taraganj Police Station, confirmed the matter to Jago News.
