One dengue patient dies; 294 hospitalized in 24 hrs

One dengue patient died and 294 were hospitalized in the last 24 hours until Saturday morning.

With the latest death, a total of 32 people died of dengue to date, a Directorate General of Health Services press release said.

Currently, 1,023 people diagnosed with the mosquito-borne disease are taking treatment at different government and private hospitals in and outside the capital of Dhaka. 

Of them, 849 are being treated at the facilities in the capital while 174 are in other divisions.   

As many as 8,390 dengue patients were admitted to hospitals across the country since January 1 this year. 

Some 7,335 out of the hospitalized patients, however, recovered during the period.
