Lightning kills 3 children in Munshiganj

Three children were killed in lightning strikes in Tongibari upazila of Munshiganj district on Saturday afternoon.

The deceased were identified as Robiul Islam, Saiful Islam Lamim, and Sanzida Akter.

Witnesses said thunderbolts struck the children while picking up lily flowers in a waterbody in Dhamaron union around 2:30 pm, leaving them seriously injured.

The injured were rushed to Munshiganj Sadar Hospital where the on-duty doctors declared them dead, Dighirpar Police Outpost in-charge Shah Alam told Jago News. 

But Ferdous Hasan, a physician of the hospital's emergency department, told Jago News that the children were bought dead to the facility.
