The Appellate Division of the Supreme Court (SC) on Thursday upheld a High Court order, granting a six-month bail to Destiny Group President Lt Gen (retd) Harun-Ar-Rashid, in a money embezzlement and laundering case.

Justice M Enayetur Rahim of the Appellate Division Chamber Judge court passed the order after holding a hearing on a plea filed by Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC), challenging the August 30 High Court order.

The High Court had passed the order after going through the medical reports of the former army chief. Earlier on June 9, the High Court had accepted his appeal against the lower court judgment that had sentenced him to four years imprisonment and fined Taka 1.50 crore in the case. It also called for the paper book of the case.

Dhaka Special Judge's Court-4 on May 12, 2022, came up with the judgment.
