251 hospitalized with dengue fever in 24 hrs

Some 251 people with dengue fever were admitted to different hospitals in and outside the capital of Dhaka in the last 24 hours until Wednesday morning.

With this, a total of 784 patients diagnosed with the mosquito-borne disease are taking treatment at different government and private hospitals.

Of them, 675 are being treated at the facilities of Dhaka while 109 are in other divisions, a Directorate General of Health Services press release said today.  

As per the release, a total of 6,181 dengue patients were admitted to hospitals across the country since January 1 this year. 

To date, 21 people died of dengue during the period while 5,376 out of the hospitalized patients recovered.
