Three people died from electrocution and three others received injuries in Bhairab upazila of Kishoreganj district on Friday afternoon.

The deceased were Milon Lal Harijan, 35, son of Ganesh Lal Harijan, and Sudarsha Kumar Deb Dibu, 15, son of Jony Lal Harijan, residents of a Harijan community in the upazila, and Md Mobarak, 22, son of Tajul Islam, of Taherpur upazila of Sunamganj district.

Local sources said a solar power pole came in contact with a live wire when it was being installed at Power House Harijan colony around 12:30 pm, leaving six people injured.

Later, they were rushed to Bhairab Upazila Health Complex where the on-duty doctors declared three dead.

In this regard, Bhairab Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Mohammad Sadikur Rahman Sabuj told Jago News that the victims' families will be given financial assistance from the government.
