2 killed as bus overturns in Ctg

Two elder men were killed and 10 others injured as a bus overturned at Bashbaria area on Dhaka-Chittagong Highway in Sitakunda upazil on Wednesday early morning.

The deceased were identified as Julfikar Ali, 62, Rezaul Karim, 51, hailing from the area.

Sub-inspector of Kumira Highway Police Camp Nazrul Islam said a Chittagong-bound of ‘Shamoli Paribahan’ turned turtle after hitting the road divider as its driver lost control over the steering around 6am, leaving the duo dead on spot and 10 others injured.

Members of Fire Fighting Unit rushed in, rescued the injured and sent them to hospital.

Police went to the spot and removed the bus from the road.
