Bodies of 7 fishermen recovered in Cox's Bazar trawler capsize
The bodies of seven fishermen have been recovered and another remained missing in Cox's Bazar trawler capsize.
The deceased were Anwar Hossain, 28, son of Nazir Hossain, and Nurul Islam, 35, son of Syed Noor, residents of Khurushkul union, Hossain Ahmed, 42, of Khurushkul East Hamza Deil, Azizul Haque, 32, son of Abul Hossain of Khurushkul Mamunpara, Md Absar, 22, son of Nurul Haque of Hamzar Deil, Tayeb, and Saiful in Sadar upazila.
Of the bodies, five were retrieved on Sunday and two others on Saturday, Sadar Model Police Station inspector (investigation) Md Selim Uddin confirmed.
Police said a trawler carrying 19 fishermen went on the Bay on Tuesday and it sank near Nazirartek point on Friday due to adverse weather.
Being informed, the coast guards and other fishermen immediately rescued eight fishermen and 11 remained missing.
On Friday night, three more ones were rescued and eight remained missing. Of the eight missings, the bodies of seven were recovered on Saturday and Sunday.
