Three of a family electrocuted in Cumilla

Three members of a family died from electrocution in Muradnagar upazila of Cumilla district on Saturday afternoon.

The deceased were Hosnera Begum, 60, a resident of Elkhal village in the upazila, her son Tara Mia, 30, and her grandson Rifar Hossain, 8.

Locals said Rifat came in contact with a live wire around 1:30 pm when he went to a field near home to pick vegetables.

Hosnera Begum also came in contact with the wire when she touched her grandson to save him.

Later, Tara came to rescue both but he was electrocuted.

As a result, they all died on the spot.

Bangra Bazar Police Station officer in-charge Kamruzzaman Talukder said police were sent to the spot, and necessary measures would be taken after recovering the bodies.
