Tea workers threaten stricter movement from Saturday
The workers of tea gardens in Sylhet have threatened to go on stricter movement from Saturday to press home their demand of increasing their daily wage to Tk 300 from Tk 120.
They made the announcement after blocking Sylhet-Airport road for an hour from 12 noon to 1 pm and staging a demonstration procession in the city.
Tea Workers Union Sylhet Vally president Raju Goala told Jago News, "Tea workers won't leave the streets until the demand of Tk 300 minimum wage is met. We will go on stricter movement, including blockade, from Saturday."
