Zero Covid death, 93 cases recorded in 24 hrs

The Bangladesh government reported zero COVID-19 death and 93 cases in the last 24 hours.

With this, the total number of fatalities remain at 29,314 and infections stood at 20,09,222. 

The Directorate General of Health Services said this in a press release on Tuesday.

The new cases were found after testing 2,110 samples in the past day.

During the period, 228 more patients recovered from the illness, taking the total recoveries to 19,51,965.

Bangladesh, however, first reported its coronavirus cases on March 8, 2020. 

The virus first emerged in the Chinese city of Wuhan in December 2019 and then it spread to other countries.

To date, the epidemic infected 596,257,345 people and killed 6,457,163 across the globe, according to Worldometer, a website that compiles the number of new coronavirus cases and deaths from it.

However, the total number of people who recovered from the virus reached 570,364,950 across the world.
