Zero Covid death, 144 cases recorded in 24 hrs
The Bangladesh government reported zero COVID-19 death and 144 cases in the last 24 hours.
With this, the total number of fatalities remain at 29,312 and infections stood at 20,08,644.
The Directorate General of Health Services said this in a press release on Saturday.
The new cases were found after testing 3,357 samples in the past day.
During the period, 456 more patients recovered from the illness, taking the total recoveries to 19,50,843.
Bangladesh, however, first reported its coronavirus cases on March 8, 2020.
The virus first emerged in the Chinese city of Wuhan in December 2019 and then it spread to other countries.
To date, the epidemic infected 594,381,829 people and killed 6,452,579 across the globe, according to Worldometer, a website that compiles the number of new coronavirus cases and deaths from it.
However, the total number of people who recovered from the virus reached 566,591,345 across the world.
