6th-grader student rape: Restaurant worker gets life-term
A Dhaka court has sentenced a restaurant worker to life-term imprisonment in a case filed for rape of a sixth grader student.
Dhaka Women and Children Repression Prevention Tribunal-3 passed the order on Thursday.
The convict is Razu Ahmed.
The court also fined him Tk 1 lakh in default of which he has to serve six more months in jail.
On February 7, 2018, the student’s mother filed a case against him on charge of rape. After 20 days of rape, the female student gave birth to a baby boy. Now the child is at Sonamoni Nibas in the capital’s Azimpur.
On May 7, police submitted a charge-sheet to the court.
On September 23, 2019, the court framed the charge against Razu.
