Nur Hossain gets life term in arms case

A Narayanganj court on Thursday sentenced Nur Hossain, a convict of Narayanganj seven-murder, to life term imprisonment in a case filed under Arms Act.

Narayanganj Additional District and Sessions (second) Judge Sabina Yasmin passed the verdict at 12:15pm.

Additional Public Prosecutor of the court Md Salah Udin Sweet confirmed the matter to Jago News. 

Earlier, police produced Nur before the court with tight security from Kashipur Central Jail in Gazipur.

In 2014, police filed the case against Nur.

On January 16, 2017, a Narayanganj court sentenced 26 people, including Nur and three former RAB officials, to death in a case filed over the abduction and murder of Narayanganj City Corporation panel mayor Nazrul Islam, lawyer Chandan Sarkar and five others. 

Nur has been in jail since then.
