Robbers gang-rape female passenger on moving bus
Robbers gang-raped a female passenger after taking control of a bus for three hours on Tuesday midnight.
The incident took place when the bus of Eagle Paribahan with 30-35 passengers was going to Dhaka from Kushtia.
A witness named Habibur Rahman, who is the regular passenger of the bus, said the driver stopped the bus near Sirajganj for dinner at Dibaratri hotel. The bus started journey around 1:30am and on the way 10-12 youths with backpacks boarded it. They took control of the bus and blindfolded the passengers and the bus staff, tied their hands and looted mobile phones, cash money and ornaments from them. Later, they gang-raped a female passenger on the moving bus.
He also said, the robbers changed the bus route and ran away after overturning the bus in a sand pit near the Raktipara Jame Masjid at Madhupur in Tangail.
However, hearing the news, Madhupur police rushed to the spot and recovered the passengers from the bus on Wednesday morning. Sub Inspector Enamul Haque admitted that they recovered home-made arms from inside of the bus.
After visiting the spot, Tangail Police Superintendent Mohammad Kaisar interrogated the bus passengers and the concerned people.
Mohammd Majharul Amin, Officer-in-charge of Madhupur Police Station, said the investigation into the matter is underway.
In this connection, the Police Superintendent Mohammad Kaisar, said a passenger filled a case against 10-12 unidentified people. No was detained yet.
