Bus hits roadside ditch from Kuril flyover

At least five passengers were injured when a bus of Turag Paribahan plunged into a roadside ditch while getting down from Kuril flyover in the city on Monday morning.

The accident took place around 10:15am as the driver of the bus of Turag Paribahan en route to Jatrabari-Tongi lost control over the steering.

On information, three firefighting units rushed to the spot and started rescue operation, said the Fire Service Control Room`s officer in charge Enayet Hossain adding that no casualties were reported yet.

Witnesses said that none was found dead in the accident but the injured were sent to hospital for treatment.

Mustak Ahmed, Deputy Commissioner of DMP (Gulshan Zone), said police have been sent to the spot and details can be disclosed after getting information from them.

Cantonment Zone Assistant Commissioner of police Kuddus-e-Khoda confirmed the matter.
