Three motorcyclists killed in Chuadanga

Three people were killed and another was injured as two motorcycles collided head-on in Sadar upazila of Chuadanga district on Saturday afternoon.

The deceased were identified as Tunu Hossain Ananda, 22, son of Sirajul Islam, and Mithu Mia, 23, son of Kitab Ali, residents of Farmpara area in Chuadanga municipality, and Mukta Halder, 28, daughter of Monoranjan Halder, of Ullapara upazila of Sirajganj district.

Police said a motorcycle got hit with a three-wheeler (locally known as easy bike) in front of the Youth Department in Jafarpur area around 1 pm and then, collided head-on with another one coming from the opposite direction, leaving four bikers hurt.

The injured were rushed to Sadar Hospital where the on-duty doctor declared two dead.

The facility's on-duty doctor Shapla Khatun said two named Tunu and Mithu were brought dead there.

Out of two other injured, one named Mukta Halder was referred to Dhaka Medical College Hospital as her condition was critical but she died during the preparation of taking to DMCH, she said.

Confirming the incident, Sadar Police Station officer in-charge Mahabbur Rahman said the bodies were kept at Sadar Hospital morgue and a case will be filed in this connection.
