Case filed over Mirsharai train accident

A case has been filed over the train accident at Mirsharai in Chattogram that killed 11 people.

The case was filed with Chattogram Railway Police Station against the gatekeeper for his alleged negligence in duty on Friday night.  

Md Jahid, Assistant Sub Inspector of the police station, filed the case. 

Nizam Uddin, Officer-in-charge of the police station, confirmed the matter to Jago News on Saturday morning.  

On Friday afternoon, eleven people were killed and seven others injured after a train hit a microbus at a level crossing in Mirsharai upazila of the district. 

All the deceased were passengers of the microbus and residents of Aman Bazar area in Hathazari upazila.

The incident took place when they were returning home after visiting Khoiyachhora waterfall.
